Frequently Asked Questions

Is my home bright enough?

Worried about your home being big or bright enough? I have done sessions in small apartments with dark walls, and big white bedrooms flooded with light. All we really need is a good window and to shoot at a bright time of day. I'll ask you when your home gets the best sunlight and we will plan the session accordingly.

What happens in a Fresh 48?

Interested in adding on a Fresh 48 session? This is a mini session taking place during that special time in the hospital - it can be added to an existing session for only $250. I will come to the hospital and capture those precious details of your newborn that disappear so quickly. The recovery time in the hospital was one of my most favorite experiences when I had each of my three children, and I treasure those images so much. I love to see those hospital onesies, blankets and hats as I look through my photo albums. This is also a great time to get images of siblings meeting for the first time. There is something so special about those first few quiet days as you are all getting to know each other - it is something you never want to forget.

What does a Newborn Session look like?

A newborn session typically takes place within a week or 2 of birth (But older babies are just fine!) and takes place in the comfort of your home. During a newborn session, the primary focus is getting images of Mom and Dad snuggling your sweet new baby, some with siblings, and I will also capture those tiny details that you never want to forget. I love to use the master bed as a backdrop and a soft, safe place for siblings to get close to the baby. I take a few posed images, but also like to go with the flow of your family, so just relax and enjoy the experience.

What is a Pay-What-You-Can Session?

Pay what you can sessions are a way that I can give quality family photos to those that might not have the means to otherwise afford them. Contact me to see if I have availability and we can figure out what will work best for your family.
